HEY! I'M RENAI…

I’m so grateful to be running a business in the Personal Development space, an industry that’s made such a big impact on my own life. I live on the beautiful Central Coast with my husband and our two school-aged kids.

Our eldest son has just moved out to join the army (proud mum moment!), and as a family, we’re all into kickboxing. My husband and I are close to earning our black belts. The kids love their kickboxing, and basketball too.

Coming from a commercial cleaning background, and with my husband doing shift work, I was looking for something more family-friendly and flexible that I could build from home here in our regional area.

Now, I run an online business, and I love the freedom it gives us to take short breaks away together and really make the most of our time as a family.

Seeing my kids discover what’s possible motivates me to keep growing every single day.

THE PROBLEM THAT LED ME HERE: I started out in commercial cleaning and worked my way up to a supervisor role. It definitely wasn’t glamorous work, but I loved that feeling of achievement at the end of a long day.

Early start times and late finishes were a big challenge though. That schedule just wasn’t working for our family life. I eventually landed a home-based role with a hospitality company, making calls and writing reports, which gave me more flexibility (and I loved that part!).

But after a while, I got tired of chasing a pay rise and riding the ups and downs that come with working for a small business. That’s when I knew I needed to find something different, something that could grow with me and my family.

THE FIRST TRY THAT FIZZLED OUT: When the kids were little, I gave a party-plan jewelry business a go. With my husband working shift work, the idea of being able to earn some extra income in those small pockets of time around the kids sounded perfect.

I was really hoping it would create more balance for our family. But honestly, the return just wasn’t there for the effort I was putting in. After that, I found myself back working for small businesses and the government and I was just over it.

I knew I had the work ethic to succeed. I just needed to find something where the effort I put in actually matched the reward. That’s when I started looking for a way to step out and truly work for myself.

THE MINDSET SHIFT THAT CHANGED EVERYTHING: Personal Development has been a big part of my life for years, right alongside my kickboxing practice. My husband and I actually quit smoking together about three years ago and that took a whole lot of mindset work! Since then, we’ve made so many positive changes.

We walk every morning, eat better, and have gotten the kids on board too. Deep down, I’d always had this thought in the back of my mind that I’d love to work in a space that helps people get better results in life by working on their mindset.

This business has really brought that to the forefront. The courses and community have been incredible! They teach you how to cut through the noise and actually create the results you want, in business and in life.

THE BUSINESS THAT CHANGED OUR LIVES: When I first got started, I honestly just wanted to do something for my kids - to show them what’s possible when you back yourself. But this business has turned out to be so much bigger than that. I get to help other people make changes in their own lives and achieve the results they’re really after.

It’s such a great feeling not having to scrimp and save just to take a family holiday, or look back thinking “shoulda, woulda, coulda.” I’ve become a little bit selfish in the best way - prioritising my business and my personal growth - but it’s for the benefit of everyone around me.

I’m so lucky to have a supportive husband who’s all in with me on this journey. You don’t need to spend your life being told what to do by a boss. You can work for yourself, take charge and actually enjoy life. There are other options out there. You’ve just got to start believing in yourself.
